Bravo's cannot take corners

Hi Guys,

I have a Bravo 1.6sx and find it'snot that great at taking corners or bends. If i'm doing over 50mph whilst negotiating a corner the car feels like it's about to topple over.

Furthermore, any even surfaces whilst negotiating these corners/bends make the car jumpy and steering uncontrollable.

I've driven other vehicles which feel more stable and offer a much more controlled ride on the same roads i've driven my bravo. Hence, i'd like to know is this normal on bravos?

Be carful Matey, you may incur the wrath of the Bigots.

Re: Re: Bravo's cannot take corners

i find the bravo does feel more twitch than other cars but i mainly put this down to it having really light controls! Compared toanything else i've driven (bar the punto with the girly button) it's very light on the steering/throttle which i think makes it feel more responsive/less controllable! lol

Re: Re: Re: Bravo's cannot take corners

I couldn't agree more - Tipo was (is) much more stable. Even though it does look like a fridge on wheels.

How long since the rear shocks were replaced? They are probably shot hence the crappy handling.

Re: Re: Bravo's cannot take corners

Rojer, so why did you buy a Bravo? Its obviously such a crap car!

Re: Re: Bravo's cannot take corners

lower it.

it will give you much better handling.

Re: Re: Re: Bravo's cannot take corners

Yours might be crap but mines not.

Get it lowered, get some HUGE silly alloys fitted with equally huge tyres. Next, buy a really ridiculour spolier and paint it in a fifferent shade to the rest of your car. Then it's air filter (or induction kit as they like to call it) time. Piper-X seems to be the flavour of the day; but and here's the real deal - the stupid bell-mouth back box. Remember, more noise = more power, so with your new air filter and huge back box, it really will go like a demon.

For those extra few bhp, dont forget to paint flames along your wheel arches, it really will be ****-hot then. Just think of you alluring you'll look to the ladies too; a sort of modern day Carlos Fandango.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Bravo's cannot take corners

Mine drives just fine, its not lowered, it does not have fancy shocks and its still on 14" steel wheels.

Grow up Roger and stop being a tosspot.

Tom, i think you're asking a lot of him!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Bravo's cannot take corners

COuld it be that AMIT has had his name changed??

So AMIT i mean Roger grow up,

BTW i had the same problem with mine a while ago, the back end went wild when taking corners at speed, took it in to the local garage and he reaplced the rear hub, been a lot better since

I think you folks may be lacking a bit of bottle as I have a standard 1.4 bravo and can in practise do alright around corners. What you have to remember is that its not scalextrix.

i find it's quite good! The understeer i can cope with, apart from the thought of what the tyres cost me! lol

The only time i don't feel quite safe is down bumpy lanes, it seems to lurch more than other cars down the bumpy roads, but as i said, i think its just cos it feels lighter!

Bravo's cannot take corners.

have you got one of those snap off steering wheels?
sorry, i just had a terrible image in my head.

Alans organic stuff hasnt helped either!

corners

The steering on a bravo is really light but I am in the position to try all sorts of customers cars and I find I like my bravo better as time goes on

Re: corners

What are you on about,
My bravo is not lowered, on 15s with 195/45 profile tyres. Handles like a dream, even when i had my 14inch steelies they screeched a bit but never argued come high speed cornering time. I think you should check your shocks.

I recon the bravo handles better than any car i've owned, and there have been 11 of them. It even handles better than my Y reg Corsa SRi 16v which is lowered on 15s.

Re: Re: corners

i was go karting the other day...then got straight into the bravo to drive home...........jeeeesus, the controls are light!...in a way welcome after 200 laps though in a v-twin kart! i changed from budget contis to toyos a few weeks back...totally transformed the handling from nervous to really settled!
