I've posted this in the tuning section but got no reply yet I'm in Yorkshire looking to get my bravo tuned, already put a k@n filter in, is it worth going to a rolling road or should I get a tuner just to come to the door
Which in Yorkshire for both is the best to go to

Cheers

Rule 1 of remap or tuning, if you can get it done on a rolling road. Always go for that option, I have a remap that was done without a rolling road. Though I know there are no issues as of yet. I feel my car could still be tuned further. Trouble with preloaded remaps is they're not tuned for an individual car. Where as a rolling road remap will fine tune everything to give you the best possible tune. Whether it be for efficiency, power or both. Rolling road is the best option.

I went the plug and play option which is probably the cheapest. I then got it checked on a rolling road to check the power etc. On a diesel this works by changing the way the injectors work so it can reduce the fuel off load and increase it under load - as well as allowing for higher boost.

A 'custom' map should be more refined, but only as good as the tuner.

Personally I wanted a map that I can turn on and off and easily change (I can switch between 'standard', 'eco' and 'sport') depending on what mood I'm in.

Ironically the standard map is the least efficient and the sport actually give me better MPG - though less than eco. Tested by brimming the tank.
