I posted in here earlier about my Fiat Bravo TD100 not going much over 80 mph, despite revving well through the gears it just wouldn't go much above 80 mph. Some people suggested air in the fuel system but i had extensively bled the fuel system so suspected other causes. Other people had suggested a speed limit had been coded into the ECU when the recon engine was fitted, the garage who did the work assured me this would not have been done. I think I read somewhere on here about the air intake being obstructed by the bonnet sound proofing so I cut a 3 inch square out just below the safety catch and took the car for a run. As soon as the turbo came in I could tell the car had heaps more power than earlier. Later on the motorway it hit 100 no problem and very quickly until the wife told me to slow down (and rightly so). Anyway it is sorted now and runs like a dream, fuel economy had improved with the 80 mph limit problem but going to work is going to be so much more fun now, especially when it means the car doesn't slow to a crawl when going uphill.

So I think I need to say a big thank you to all who contribute to the forum, it is an invaluable field or information.

Cheers,

Andy
