I came across an original radio and was wondering is there anyway of getting the code for the radio? I was told that my dealer should be able to find it..is that true? can anyone recommend a good (cheap) cd changer that is compatible with the radio!!thanks!!

if the serial number in on a sticker on the radio (it should be unless its been removed) you can use the serial in a code generator to get the code. i dont have the code generator for these models (because i couldnt find it) but i'm reliably informed that it is available. i dont know if fiat can do it, or if they would be willing unless you could prove ownership.

you need the CD changer that is fitted as standard. the Grundig 6 disk type. it uses the 13 pin round terminal cable. it was fitted to other cars as well (seat iirc).

the radio worked fine..didn't need any code..kind of odd!! And I know any respect you had for me has gone because I put the oringinal radio back in....but i have to admit it looks way better :p!!

you can stick whatever you want in, its your car :)
plus you helped me find my rear light so i'll love you forever.

no code needed eh? maybe thats why i havent managed to find a code generator. i'll have to look into this a bit further. :chin:

Not all HUs need one. L and M series don't. Also - the code function can be disabled by the owner for good.

Klemster, what model was that?

Depends on the model - H2 and up have a steering wheel connector in the back.

According to the manual, the code can be disabled from the expert functions menu. If you re-enable it I think you will need the code. So in other words, dont enable the code :D
