Bravo Radio Code

I cannot find the radio code for my stereo(it was
not included in the paperwork when I bought it at auction). I've
checked the radio and it tells me the code is 'active'.
When I come to change my battery and the stereo locks,
what can I do? The reason I'm worried now is that the
battery does'nt sound as strong as it was. Can anyone
help?

Does it say SAFE

In Grundig laguage CODE means it is not set and SAFE means the code is set. So you have no problem if it says CODE.

ps If it came from a hire company they keep the codes on their computers.

Your local dealer can get the code for you but charge you about £15 - £20 from what I understand. They need to take your radio out and note down the serial number at the back of it (a 2 minute job at your garage) and they send the code away and request your code. You can only get it if the dealer requests your code I hear for security reasons (stolen radios etc.)It normally takes a few days.

A lucrative market for our friendly dealers if you ask me!

Radio code

When I used to own a Punto a nice dealer in Warwick managed to get me the code for a minimal charge of £7.50. Some of the others I asked wanted to charge £15 for taking the radio out and £20 for the code.

It does indeed say 'safe'. I have some history to the
car and the dealer who last passed it on, so maybe I'll
contact them. Any other ideas, anyone?

How to get your radio code

Had the same problem after a flat battery and the radio went 'safe' and I didnt have the code.

Your dealer needs to get the radio out and get the serial number. Then you need to get in touch with the company who does the technical support for Grundig. You'll need to fax them the serial number plus some proof of ownership - they asked for a valid insurance certificate. They sent the code back within minutes. I have the phone and fax numbers, but not with me at the moment, will post them here later.
