Bravo HGT - Occasional Key Code Light on Dash

Hi,

my partner drives a Bravo HGT (1997) and recently the key code light occasionally comes on the dash before starting up.

any ideas what could be causing this?

2 things:
1. the battery is too weak - measure the voltage on the battery poles
2. the key is internally damaged or the key barrel antenna looses contact/ is on its way out

Try using the second key for a few days and see if the same happens.

Go the same issue this weekend all my keys are doing it... i know the battery is not brill and after a decent run in the car is doesn't happen for a few days...

Hi, the battery is not very old, so either they sold me the wrong one, or its just a poor quality battery then.

is this something i should worry about? as we no longer have the red key as it got destroyed with the wrong car a couple of months back

No worries, when / if the battery goes flat, just change it and off you go.

For a normal bosch battery i can get 1 with 4 year warranty for £69.99 OR a Bosch Silvertop for £79.99 with 5 year warranty (i think),ill be getting a silvertop
