This has happened on several occassions. I'm driving along, everything is normal and suddenly the engine will stall. When I try to start it straight away the engine will turn but doesn't start. As time goes by the engine will start but will die out again. This gets better and better until eventually the engine will start and stay started and I'll be able to drive off (after about an hour or so from stopping). This has happened several times and I have taken it to a number of fiat dealers who have put it on diagnostics and found nothing. The last one changed the TDC sensor but the problem has recently happened again. Has anybody got any ideas?

Probably a sensor or relay is failling when getting hot, tdc sensor, which they replaced, fuelpumprelay ets, The fault will not show on any diagnostic computer unless the car actually wont start. So I think you will have to let the garage drive the car with a portabel diagnostic computer and hope it fails on them.

im having same problem as jathan, the car 1.6 16v sx brava gets up to temperature and stalls the only way i can get it to run is by turning up the revs on the accelater cable. ive tried taking off the petrol cap and it dont work. i have also tried to have a garage do a diagnostic report on it and it turned up nothing. the only thing i can think of doing is sending it to fiat but they want ££££££££££££££££££££££ and lots of them before they even start to find out whats wrong with it.ps ive also cleaned all breather hoses, sensors and the idle control valve and that didnt help. please please help andy :(
