Anybody here already tune any brava?

My brava is:
1.8 16v
+Intercooler
+0.45 kg - GARRET Turbine.
Aprox. 170hp.
+50HP NOS

Well.

I´ve installed a TURBO on my 1.8 16v engine with 0,45 kg of pressure. I don´t know how to translate it to english becouse of the measurements.
O just know that my car do 0-400 meters on 9,68 seconds.
And 0-100 km/h (Kilometers per hour) on 6.55 secs.

THis is my car.

The measurements are on International Sistem (km/h, kgf, etc.) not on the UK System (mp/h, lb, and ft - a really annoying system of measurements).

Look at this picture and u´ll see the measurements of my little brava. Look in the green and red colums.

Still in the 13 seconds is quite impressive...even more for a 1.8 What is the first line the figure 298.5 in the red column? Is this the horsepower?

Hi!!

Here in Brazil, the measurement for engine power is CV - "Cavalo Vapor" or HP "Horse Power" (not BHP that I don´t know thist measure).

298 CV means 298 HP.

The red colum mens that the turbo pressure is 1,2 kg/cm² , not lb/feet.. and with an intercooler. Not that i´m not using gaz but using "ALCOHOL" (a fuel made here only in brazil that have more "power").
The blue colum is my car without anything, all original if my 1.8 16v engine.

The green colum is with 0.5 kg/cm², intercooler and gaz as fuel. As you see, the 1.8 16v engine is very good for tunning things.

Is it with turbo alone or with NOS also?
I have a 1.8 myself...getting turbo soon!

There is not a hope in hell that you could get that from a stock engine. It must have had internal mods. That much BHP (although I am slightly sceptical about the figures) would require enough boost to melt the stock engine.

300 horses is quite some!
And according to my calculations is only achieved with 1.2 bar of boost ( 1 kg/cm2 is more or less 1 bar) ... So i wonder how he did it so it could hold... My turbo conversion should come to around 250s horses but that would be with new pistons and some other stuff so it can hold... Wonder what he has done

Which make of pistons? I'd guess he also has new rods, stress relieved crank, new clutch, better head gasket. I wonder what ECU he is using?

Hi, here in brazil we do miracles..
Running with red configuration, my brava broke with 18.000 KM (no miles) runned.

I´ve got a serious problems with engine head and the other components that i don´t know the english names.

Actually my car is in green configuration. Sure, with 50hp NOS he reaches aprox. 230hp.

Its a 2ltr Marea turbo engine (coupe style, Brazil seemed to get better Fiats than Europe) not the 1.8.

FIAT HERE ALLWAYS bought the best cars.

GM, FORD, VOLKSWAGEM make only trash with wheels here.

Stilo 16v (1.8 16v GM Powertronic DOHC Engine) with 127HP
Stilo 8v (1.8 8b GM Powertronic) with 103HP.
Brava 1.6 16V (HLX and SX with the fiat engine Corsalounge with 106 HP)
Fiat UNO 1.0 FIRE
Fiat PALIO (Strada, weekend and adventure) with engines:
1.0 fire, 1.0 16v fire, 1.3 8v fire, 1.3 16v fire and 1.8 powertronic 103 HP.

The brava HGT Version (1.8 16v engine with 132 HP) was build here from year 2000 to 2002.
