How difficult is it to swap a t-jet in a 2000 model 1.2 brava, if you've got the complete motor, gearbox, ecu and harness of the car? Also, can the cable throttle be retained or no?
The T-Jet is a turbocharged Fire 1.4 16V, and the 1.2 16V is the 1.4's smaller brother. For example both the 1.2 and 1.4 have been installed in the Punto mk2, Stilo etc. Shouldn't the engine mounts be identical?
Is it you that comes back to the forum every year with a new idea about which engine to transplant into that car?
It seems that your car has the original engine setup without the later electronic throttle so it would be less compatible with an up-to-date FIRE engine.

There are a few SuperFIRE 1.4 and T-jet conversions in the Cinquecento/Seicento section. I imagine in the Bravo it would much the same but with a lot more space to work with.

Yeah, that's me However this time, the Brava's engine needs a new head gasket and another head, I've got a bit of cash and someone locally sells a punto t-jet motor along with the transmission, ecu and other bits from a crashed punto with 70k kms for 800 euro. So this time there are higher chances that the swap will actually be made.
Liquid Knight, thanks a lot, I'll be sure to check the threads out if the process is similar!
Certainly yeah. It's pretty much now or never. I do have to get lots of issues/questions figured out asap so that I actually choose to start the project.
Oh yeah definitely. After putting bigger brakes, better suspension and wheels/tyres on her, more power out of the t-jet lump would be easy peasy. 160hp from just a remap, and far more with the n/a fire cams, bigger turbo etc, or so I've read online at least. I dare not do that without sorting the running gear our first!
What color is your formula? My car is a 1.2 SX painted in this weird yet awesome blue, azzurro sinfonia or something.
My Brava is metallic Emerald Green, here's a photo with 14" and 15" Brava wheels for comparison. I see you've got Punto alloys on yours.
The Formula edition had the uprated / bigger brakes with ABS, it's got the later Euro3 engine with 2 Cats and fly-by-wire throttle. Plus foglight front bumper and rear spoiler.
