Braking problem - ABS going nuts...

Hi, I've got a Marea Weekend 1.6. When braking at slow speed, the ABS goes bananas and turns on, the problem occurs on dry road. The ABS kicks in for a second or two, then the brakes is back to "normal".I thought it was the brake pads and discs that were worn out, but I have just replaced the discs, pads and brake fluid. (I have also replaced the rear brakes)

I can drive for a whole day without the problem occuring, but the next day the problem can occur many times. (The ABS is working fine when driving fast and I need to stop..... :) )

The ABS light is operating normal. (When starting the ABS light is on, and then it is turned off).

Anybody have any suggestions ? Could it be the ABS sensors ? If so, how to find out which of the sensors that is faulty... :)

Cheers !

hi,

i've recently started getting the exact same problem on my bravo sx with ABS.

dry road, usually under 30mph, it just seems to kick in around 75% of the times i brake.

fiat dealer diagnostic found no probs, but thought it could be the ABS brake pump, but they wanted to charge another two hours labour for the 'group specialist' to have a look at it... so i haven't done anything about it yet...

any luck?

Same here. Infrequent but I can feel the pedal vibrate as if ABS kicking in at low speed.

Brakes new all round + recent full service. Did it before too.

It still brakes the same, just feels different.
