Hi all,
It is heard that Boric acid reduces friction, Has anybody in the forum tried adding little boric acid powder into the engine oil,? there is a thread in www.team-bhp.com based on this i have tried adding boricacid powder mixed with engine oil (10gm) on my Uno Diesel 1.7 engine, since then i noticed a bit increase in the idle speed. I latter adjusted the idle speed (reduced).
any body with similar experience please reply ?

thanks in advance.

With the advances in modern engine oil, especially synthetics, I would NOT recommend adding anything to oil that is not specifically designed to be added. A good quality engine oil will keep the oil clean and reduce friction. If you're worried that the oil is not up to the job then change it for something better.

I'm afraid I view "Boric Acid" as little more than snake oil.
