Barchetta Boot release cable broken

Hi all
I'm new to this so I'll keep it simple until I get the hang of it.
I've got a 1998 limited edition Barchetta that I've had since 2000 and I love it. But today I tried to open the boot and the cable broke.
Does anyone know how I can get into the boot please?

Hi Frank, welcome aboard.

There are several old threads on here about this, so it's worth doing a search for "boot cable" in the Barchetta section. From what I remember, it's a complete and utter pita to get into the boot if the cable breaks. Some people have had to resort to drilling a hole in the lid

Your post has reminded me that someone else on here suggested attaching some fishing line to the inner boot lock mechanism, and routeing it into the cabin (iirc), in case the cable breaks. That's no use after the event, though. Sorry.

If you are lucky the cable will have broken at the pull lever end.

Remove the pull lever mounting plate and see if it has?

If it has broken at the lever end then you should be able to grab the inner core and pull it with some grips/pliers.
