500 Boot opens on its own

Hi on my 2011 fiat 500 The boot opens on it's own you shut the boot and it pops up again you can sometimes hear the servo constantly switching on it's own when it has popped up
Sometimes you shut the boot get in the car and it pops open again

If it's the original boot handle micro switch unit, I'm surprised it's lasted as long as it has :devil: Both 500's I owned, the boot handle units were replaced under warranty within twelve months of ownership.

I have no idea really, I'm wondering if the rear tailgate hatch wiring is also causing the issue. Have you peeled back the rubber boot in the rear hatch and had a look to see if the wires are still all intact? When they go, they cause all sorts of electrical issues. i.e. this bit:

Hi thanks for answering. I have had to repair the wiring as some of the wires where broken on the boot harness.

Peel back the tailgate wiring first and have a look.

It’s 2010 model. One previous female owner.

On an 7 year old Fiat 500, this doesn't surprise me, the boot wiring issue that is!

I'm surprised this is the only electrical issue the car has.....

I would suggest not operating the roof until the tailgate is fixed too.
