Technical boot light

My wife recently bought a new 500 Hybrid (one of the last available!). She is very pleased with except there is no boot light. A thread from 2007 says that the wiring is there and a Fiat boot light can be fitted. A bought a boot light and indeed the cut-out in the trim is there and it fits. The problem is I cannot find the wiring and plug for it behind the trim. The 2007 thread says to look behind the seat belt reel but it is not there. Could it be Fiat have no longer included wiring on the loom or am I looking in the wrong place?

On my 2012 it was a real long way back in the panel- have another look with a strong torch and something like brush handle or long thin piece of wood to move the trimaway from the metal work in case its found its way into a hidden crevice! trace any main bits or the wiring loom as far as possible and it might turn up on a hidden junction! hope it works out for you! good luck.
