Technical boosting

my car is onli booosting to 0.5bar can some1 help me fix this problem!

Could be boosting a base boost, thats when the ebv[electronic boost valve] fails or gives inconsistent boost.

Reason for this is because standatd one on the car may need cleaning or may need replacing as they arnt great at there job.

Easy and cheap to replace with a maunel boost control, tho this is ok I would recomend a eletronic boost control.

May be nothing to do with the ebv, might be a split hose/pipe, airleak in other words.

It's probably a boost leak. What's the vacuum showing on the gauge at idle? have a listen around the engine bay to hear for any hissing. Try checking all jubilee clips and checking the hoses for splits. Could be the wastegate is stuck, or it's in limp home mode, but nine times out of ten it's a boost leak. The ten year old rubber hoses start to fail and leak precious boost. You'd get a light on the dash it it was in limp home mode.

hi thanks for the replys but the car has no leaks! and the engine light is not on... could it be the boost solenoid?? and how much do they cost or can my old 1 be cleaned???

Yeah you can just clean your current one. It's down in front and below the battery. you'll have to remove the air filter, maybe the top plastic hose (the one that has the recirc dump valve attached to it, it's to the right of the engine block) and the EBV is a little metal "dalek" looking thing. It's got three hoses going into it, the bottom two being blue and red (they have tape on them so you can tell the difference) remove it and spray Carb Cleaner or WD40 through it liberally. Then replace.
