Technical Boost Gauge

Technical Boost Gauge

Come on.. it's not that difficult to get something through the firewall.
I thought about getting one.. if i did i would have bought a spare A-pillar panel and would have modded that with some fiberglass, bondo, spray paint.. to install the boost gauge there. ..

any OBD => Bluetooth app will have vary big delay/response rate => you will not be able to spot any boost spikes!!
+ it will only see what the MAP sensor sees, that means that as the sensor ages you will see less and less boost.

A mechanical boost gauge would be the best.

Yeah it's pointless not having a live reading. I will get a mechanical one just want a decent place to mount it to look oem as possible.

That's why i suggested a pillar mounted one..
If done properly it can loo pretty OEM:

You do need to DIY a bit. and get familiar with fiber glass.

But if you buy the A-pillar panel from the scrappers then you can always go back to original if you don't like it.

Mine is tucked in the corner right under the A pillar. I got a cheap metal mount from eBay and bent it to fit in the space. Its stuck down using some double sided numberplate tape.

I'll post a pic when I get a chance.

android app

yes it is realtime but there will be a small signal lag
however are you really going to be watching the gauge that closely when you are hooning along at full boost??

Tbh I want a realtime one & I don't have an andriod device anyway. I used to always check the boost gauge on my grande when hooning and if something didn't feel right also I will need one as I'm planning of fitting a forge actuator in the near future.
