Well, this car is certainly testing my patience of late! Bonnet release spring snapped whilst opening the bonnet to top up the washer fluid.
This needed a quick repair because otherwise the bonnet would be loose and undrivable.
So, using a 10mm wrench I took I removed the 3 screws holding the mechanism in place (which was a total git to do (in the snow)), found a replacement spring that needed cutting and bending to the correct length.
Fitted it, WD-40'd it all and screwed it back in. 50 pence for the new spring at a local DIY shop and 30 mins from start to finish.
Good fun eh!
Attached picture of the mechanism and circled in red the snapped spring.
