Technical Blower fan not working

Morning all
I’m here on behalf of my daughter and her 2009 Fiat 500 sport.

In short her internal blower motor has stopped working completely. I’ve checked the engine bay fuse and relay, both are working.
I’ve just disconnected the power to the blower motor and I’m getting 14v when I turn the fan speed dial. So I’ve removed the blower from the dashboard, connected directly to a 12v supply and it operates


In your opinion, is it now down to a broken resistor? That’s my thought but I’d like to ask the experts.

Well, I don’t know what to say. I’ve called it a day and put the fan back into place so it’s safe, I’ve plugged the fan in and guess what….. it’s worked !! You couldn’t make this up.

Clearly there must be an issue of some variety.

I’d still appreciate your views.
