Blardy sumps

A £30 oil change ended up costing us £250 yesterday as the sump was knackered!!

I hear this is a common problem on Fiats? Ours was 6 years and 77k miles old.

Hi,
Not sure if its a common problem but the sump on my old 1.4 (1997, 90k miles) was replaced for £160.
Its the cambelt you should be more worried about - mine went and was going to be £900+ to repair!

We had our cam belt done before Xmas.
Hopefully the damned car will behave itself for a while as hubby is away for 4 months now and it will be cranking up the miles on the M6 whilst visisting family. fingers crossed
