Test drove a punto the other day that my friend is selling,
Its a 1.9 multijet sporting,
I absolutely loved it.
Its up for around 4k but has done just over 70k miles.
It has full service history etc. but im just wondering whether the mileage is a problem for the car?
Do the turbos tend to go wrong after a certain mileage?
Or are there many common problems?
Thanks for your time guys
Steve

Well.... a used car wont be like new... the better ones are closer to new condition but 70,000 miles? Mine had done more than that in 4 years when I let her go & it was running like a dream! Depends how its been driven... actually depends on a lot of things but £4k isnt a bad deal as long as it's been well looked after & not messed around too much. A diesel at that mileage should be good for a while yet but things will go wrong... there is no car with 70k miles on it, in the same sector & price range that would be perfect... thats why it's £4k & not £15k! You get my drift... (y)

There are problems, there were some dodgy turbo's allegedly, I think it was because the drivers didnt warm the turbo down after a fast run personally. Usually most are sorted at 70k miles... look for wheel bearing rumble from the back, clonking from the front anti roll-bar links, crunching or knocking from the front top suspension mounts, glove-box door latch issues, lifted windscreen de-mister insert, iffy door latches, warning lamps after start up, excessive smoke from the zorst, noises that dont seem right from engine & transmission... it's a used car... usual checks are in order.
