Hi all, now that my drivers seat has given up the ghost, and the only thing preventing the seat folding back and me sliding into the boot when I pull away is the folded rear seat and the pile of junk!

So, is there a more comfortable seat I can fit in? Either aftermarket, but not bucket, or from another model?

I have a 3 door, so they have to fold, any ideas?

Congratulations!

Unfortunately, no, nothing else goes straight in because the tilt forward mechinism is unique to the Uno & theres the crossmember underneath stopping you just bolting another make seat in.

I cant quite work out whats broken in yours, any chance of a pic?

Here we use Seats by Koenig [K 5000 ( no buckets )]
Recaro (Speed), Sandtler, Sparco

all with with mounting brackets

I got Seats from Sandtler. The are buckets but not to tight.
For my comfort UNO I have Recaro Ergomed in black leather.

It´s the easiest way to get new seats and they are always of better quality.
Watch out for China copies and cheap offers. They are no fun.

I've looked into some aftermarket seats, and bolt in subframes. But I'm not paying out that kind of money... £80+ each frame and £150+ each seat... The Uno is a daily hack, so can't warrant spending that...

Nothing looks out of place with my seat, I removed the 2 springs and checked them over, they don't appear streched, not sure what else I can check?

Mk2 Uno Turbo seats are, I think, the very best in comfort and durability - and the style suits standard Unos too.
Totally agree with that
BEST money I spent on 2nd hand parts for our Uno BaNGeR

Would love to take you up on that offer, but think you may be a bit too far away!
PM'd ya about a possible transport solution as I may be going down to the FAST Show at Santa Pod end of this month

I had a look at the mechanism on my seat today, looks slightly worn, so that is prob the issue, but does not look like it is replacable, and if it is I doubt I'll be able to get the parts new...
The mechanism is all part of the seat complete

BUT if it is the track that is fixed to shell/floor that you are talking about being WORN . . .
I can always cut it off our shell before it goes for scrap
So you can have seats and floor track as well

Uno Seat´s often break at the back rest.
Turbo seats can wear out on the side of the seating.
There are two metal bows that support the pelvis.
When the foam wears our you will notice ;)

As I said, I`ve got a pair of seat frames in good nick if you want one. :D

The backrest is fiddly, theres a series of strings & rods that tension the cover to keep its shape, you have to make a note of which ones go where & what position they are in as you remove it.

If your reasonably patient you should be ok. It`d take most technically minded people an hour or so to do.

You can have it for a tenner, but you`ll have to transfer your tilt handle & cable & the sprung wire centre bars (the brown paper covered bit in the middle of johorridoh`s pic) over from your old seat, as I used them to modify my Panda`s seats! Very easy to do though.
