Cant comment on Fiat on the Silverlink but had run ins with Benfiled before at there Benfield road branch.
Was gonna buy a used car from them and it was all just about settled bar the finance. Had made a deposit payment of £300 by cheque and got a phone call the day was due to pick the car up and sign all the paperwork saying that the repayments would be going up from £125 a month to nearly £200 :shrug:
Turns out some pleb in there sales team hadnt added things up right so had to back out of the sale.
Told them that wanted the cheque back and they basicly refused flat out saying they would hold the money as " a deposit on another car"
Fortunatly had a mobile with me so was able to call the bank from the showroom and tell them to cancel the cheque with no fee.
Mean while the sales guy was listening and then starts hopping up and down shouting that we cant do that and he would get in trouble then has the nerve to say I was comiting cheque fraud.
Personaly I wouldnt wazz on them if they was on fire.

I would rather use a local independant or bung a mechanic a few quid cash to get things sorted myself
