Hi there... as the title says I've been around for about 10 years from when I bought my 500c.. just dug it out to get on with it and thought I'd get on here for advice etc...
I have a 50 500c that I dragged out of a garage in Rugby years ago for just £40... that should tell you how bad it was. The body fell off the chassis as we put it on the trailer and between looking at it and collecting it the bonnet disappeared!! it was mostly all there (apart from the floor lol) and it's been in storage waiting for it's time.. It was last on the road in 1963 (i have a faded tax disc from the screen) and I've got it rolling now (even with a floor!!)
Obviously it came with no papers or reg plates but when i bought it a quick phone call to Fiat UK and a very helpful guy had Fiat Italy poke though the archives and confirm for me, via the VIN number it was built in 1950. The chap I bought it off thought it was a 1948 car but what's 2 years between friends!... The advice I'm looking for is how to get an age related plate for it, TBH if I'm going to spend a lot of hard earned cash i want a proper 1950 number and you really need to see the price of parts to understand that.
