Bee Sting aerials

i cant seem to unscrew my aerial like i could on the pug206. Apparently i have to take the whole thing off, via the interior light.(had that out and had a look already) Am i bee-ing an idiot, or do i have to replace the whole lot? i've only ever seen little screw attachments before that screw in to the original mount... Any ideas?

It should just unscrew mate...probably just seazed, if you don't want to use the fiat one again, get some pliers on it...

it should be around an inch from the roof...

If you look at where the wire antenna ends and the bottom starts you will see it has some ridges around it. These are supposed to make it easier to get hold of. If you wrap a bit of cereal packet around there and get the pliers on you should be able to release it without causing any damage.
Seamless joins on a Fiat, don't it make you proud.

I've dumped the Fiat aerial for a shorter Bosch bee-sting (although its still mounted up front so its not really a bee-sting) as I have a DAB radio. It actually looks quite neat, the Fiat one was never that good looking.

Don't you suffer from signal loss with a small ariel?

I was watching Brainiac last week and worked out the ideal ariel should be around 75cm?

yeah the signal on my radio with my bee-sting is no where near as good as it is with the single one, but for radio 1 it is fine - and that's what i mostly listen to so no bother but yeah you do lose quality - particularly in built up areas.

My FM reception sucks a bit now but I always listen to DAB. I only get dropout in 1 place in town and I can listen to the same station all the way from southampton to london.

You don't need a 1/4 wave aerial, 1/8th wave or 1/16th wave still work but not as well.
