General battery light

yesterday i noticed that when i switched the engine on the red battery light on the dash board remained on for a 2 sec.
today the same happened is it other than that the car drives good exept from the problem that when the engine is hot it cuts off.
any ideas?

re.battery light...could it be that you have some alternator problems such as a slipping belt?? Check the tension on it maybe the belt is slipping till the car starts

Regarding it stopping when it heats I have no idea...maybe alexgs can help u on that!
