All,
I have a UNO (999cc FIRE) bought in 1998 in India. The car came with a digital clock fitted in factory. Over the years the clock display became dimmer and dmmer and now is almost impossible to read.

Is there a battery that needs to be replaced?

I read the owners' manual and there is no mention of the clock.

Thanks for any information,
Sreenath

SO either the closk itself needs replacement, or the fuse might have blown. I will check that.

Thanks for the information.

I checked the fuse. and it is OK. Actually the clock is working, and I can set the time. However it is so dim I cant really read the time.

The user manual says it "automatically adjusts the brightness depending on headlight status (day or night), and it used to work all right.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Thanks,
Sreenath

The bulb's failed -the digital clock's back lit by a tiny wedge bulb - the same type of bulbs that light the dashboard warning lamps.

Take the clock off the dashboard and at the back there's a black round thing that hold the bulb. Twist it and it will then pull out, revealing the bulb wedged in the black holder. Make sure you get a 12V wedge bulb otherwise you clock will be dim.

Hi,

I need help with my clock too please :D

I've fitted a digital clock into the instrument panel, as mine didn't come with it fitted. I thought that there would be a connection block for bose the cigarette lighter and the clock behind there, but I can't find them anywhere.

Does anyone know if there's anywhere they could be hiding or if there's another way i can wire it up.

Thank You

Thanks for the reply. I got this repaired at a service station just a few days ago, and he said the same thing,. that a bulb provides the backlight.

Now it is working well.

Thanks,

hi Cholmes0305,

your wires may be hidden behind the instrument panel, that's where I found mine when I was changing the dash bulbs

Cholmes0305,
It a 4 wire plugged lead you're looking for (mines blue, red ,black & silver) Its bundled together with the lead for the rear fogs/rear window heater & wiper coming RHS from behind the dashboard.

HI,

It should be there but i can't see it... the wires for the buttons come from behind the drivers side of the dash. I'm wondering if it might be behind there, it just means taking everything apart.

where would it be connected to on the fuse box?

Thanks

You should be able to get away with just taking off the domed dash cover (easy). I'd guess the fuse is the same for the dash warning lights. I'll have a look in the next couple of days.
