battery case

just wondering what the hell the rubber tube at the bottom of the battery case is for? on my old punto it didnt have one. the one i have now has.
im going to change my spark plugs and this rubber tube is the only thing i can think of iv got that may fit on the plugs to ensure they dont cross thread.

thats what i thort. so its not that important if i snip hlaf of it off so i can fit it over a spark plug. thats if it fits lol

as long as it doesn't mean that water will dripping on anything it shouldn't should be fine but don't cut it right of coz otherwise the water wont drain off and just rust the bottom of the tray

thats why the old puntos battery tray had bit of rust at the bottom :doh:

i thought it was for the battery acid, for when the car leans incase it doesnt spill everywhere specially over the car
