Punto (Mk2/2b) bad earth?

Hi everyone.i had this problem since yesterday and was wondering what it is?the gearbox warning light flashes,when i press brake pedal i hear a click in the knob,the car drives and chenges gears normal,took out rear cluster brushed connectors with metal brush,cleaned the gearbox earth,oh and when i chnge to d it shows p but drives normal,when i took out the stop lights fuse,the dashboard was dead,nothing was working,the sounded normal,bad earth?where is it in rear lights?please help as i am out of ideas?by the way hello to everyone.oh,its 52 plate speedgear sporting
