Alright mate, i've just read your post about the engine spray paint and strut brace, How did you get the paint in the same colour as i'm trying to get some to match mine but people keep telling me i cant get it for the engine. any ideas?

And, if the strut brace wont fit, will you be selling it? is it from the 1.8HLX?

Cheers in advance.

yes and yes

OK, i have a blue bravo and i have a blue rocker cover. thats about as much as the colour matching goes. the rocker cover paint is avaliable in about 4/5 different colours. the blue i have is totally different to the blue of the car but still looks good and isnt all oily! you can get it from any local car parts/halford place. its called 'very high temperatur paint' and is intended for manifolds (can is orange with a pic of a 4 branch manifold on it). painting is easy: take spark plug cover off (removable panel in middle) if you cant then dont worry but it does make the job neater. sand paper down the whole top panel and its up to you as to how smooth you want to get it. (the paint is matt, not gloss). next wipe whole area with white spirit (this gets rid of dust and oily residue). now mask off and paint. took me about 1 1/2hrs to do.

strut brace:
i will be selling it if it doesnt go on the new car. it is actually designed for a fiat coupe but does fit on the bravo. i had it on a 1.8 bravo. to fit that you need to move the fuse box beside the passenger side strut. i took all the covering off it and cable tied it to the strut brace. i think it will go on the new car but will need a bit of relocating around the brake servo bits and pieces. will post if it doesnt fit.

p.s. dont paint your engine blue - its my colour now!
