Afternoon guys, well after attempting to attend my training course yesterday I got halfway through Gateshed and got stuck in traffic. Pootling along at about 3mph and the dash went crazy. ASR, EBD, ABS and hill hold all not available along with 3 lights on the display. Lights are abs light, esp light (both amber) and the exclamation mark (red). The handbook tells me issues if individual lights are on but not all 3. Got it booked in for diagnostic on sat but has anybody had this issue with all three on at once. TBH car drives fine?

cheers

Possibly the battery is on it's way out, low voltage can play havok, before paying out for the diagnostic try charging the battery slowly for 12 hours. Just a thought could be wrong

Yeah thought about that but my car was serviced only a few weeks ago and battery test came back good. WIll check the connections though. Maybe a sensor of some kind might be at fault???

still wouldn't do any harm to charge the battery, the battery could be fine but this time of year is very harsh on batterys with having heated rear window on,head lights and cabin heaters on all the time.

Well charging the battery hasn't helped, still got the problem. Will see what happens when I take it in for diagnostic on sat. Its going into GMD Fiat Co Durham. Anybody had any dealings with them?

thanks for the responses guys. Had the car diagnosed this morning. Had low voltage to on ABS sensor. They suggested that even though my battery was working fine it wasnt the correct spec (i did have it fitted, was with the car when bought). Nipped to Andrew Page's and the guy took one look at the battery, laughed and said it was for a nissan micra. Got new battery and Fiat GMD fitted it and cleared the fault codes. To give GMD their dues they only charged half the quoted price for diagnostic check and fitted my battery free of charge. The guy there did say they suspect that the fault will re-appear and if so will need to do a wiring check. Low and behold drove the car home and the fault re-appeared but gonna give it a few weeks to get new battery up to full charge and see where we are from there. The guy at GMD said it wasnt dangerous still got brakes, just not optimal braking system i.e. abs.

So finally got to the route cause of my issues, after my aircon failed I checked the fuses, turned out I had a corroded fusebox, ordered one from ebay second hand, ensured the right fuse config and attempted to replace. What a chew! Basically the only two things that hold the fuse box in place are 2 plastic lugs at the bottom and top. No matter how hard I pulled, prodded, pushed, turned etc I could not remove the lugs from their seat. In the end worried about damaging the cabling below I opted for a junior hacksaw and lopped them off, superb, fusebox lifted fine, along with 5 years of muck and crud. Pulled off the 3 multi connectors, cleaned the contacts, fitted the plugs to the new fusebox and attemped to re fit. No chance! After and hour of trying to seat the lugs I gave up. What didnt help was the metal bracket that took the lug was made out of the weakest metal known to man so any pressure just bent it! Ended up cable tying it in. It is very secure, just need to ensure I carry around spare cable ties incase I pop a fuse! Anyway long story short I now have a fully functioning car without any warning lights. Result!
