Hi been looking around for awhile now to give my stilo 1.2 16v a remap or some chip tweak to lift the power, i know its a slightly heavy car for the 1.2 16v but it does go when giving a bit, reason for wanting this is my misses 1.2 8v punto mk2b has more clout setting off and pull then the stilo will catch and pass.

Was looking everywhere and came across this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350322282548&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IThttp://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-5...item%253D350322282548&_trksid%253Dp2759.l1259

now most of these seem to be fitted onto diesel vehicles of the fiat range and these say this goes on the 1.2 16v stilo petrol, does anybody know or had any experiance of this unit or some1 that can just help me out.

cheers john

bull :) can you get extra 20% power AND lower consumption? Erm, even assuming this does change the map (instead of giving you errors due to maf sensor out of range reading) more power = more petrol = higher consumption.. in other words..if you feel like paying 80 squid for what is most likely just a resistor in a box.. feel free..

Yes sent a full email asking for all technical readouts from their tests on the vehicle and to show proven readings, so far nothing has arrived in my inbox and 12[X] it wasnt a case of me paying £80 for a resister in a box, thats why i made the enquiry here as im no fiat expert and there are alot here that can help with the understanding, but if you know where i can get a 1.2 16v stilo 02 mapped to give it that little bit more then im all ears.

Thanks

Most places will be able to map your 1.2.

That is most definately not a resistor in a box, the DB9 connector and the enclosure is built in cost far more than those resistor things sell for. The sales blurb sounds like any other diesel tuning module (simple MCU inside and a variable resistor to change the scaling of the effect it has).

The tuning devices like that usually increase diesel pump pressure to increase power output. But with petrol cars not working in the same way it wouldnt work.

You would need more than 9 wires to make changes to the power delivery on a petrol car I would have thought.
