Greetings from Denmark!
I've enjoyed reading many a post on this forum for over a year now, and I thought it was time to join. I have yet to be able to contribute, so consider my membership merely as support for this great site.
I'm a 'cento-owner (Seicento Sporting 1998) aiming for looks, adequate power and nice stereo.
The 'cento-story so far:
~18 months ago I picked up my baby, having wanted an anthrazite Sei for yeeeears. My father and I have a weakness for italian cars, and though he's an Alfisti (three Alfa Sud's, one a Sud ti 1982 *RIP* and the latest a Sud Sprint 1985 - both have covered in excess of 400.000km's/250.000miles) he's always had an eye out for a Sei. I guess I was spurred along.
We both tend to buy things thinking with our hearts than our brains, so I have of course bought a car which needs a paint job - it has a bunch of nicks, bumps and scratches, but what the heck? She's mine... forever!
Let's see... Had the car for two months and a friend of mine drops a cigarette on the back seat, sooo the upholstery's damaged.
After four months the clutch gave up - bearing almost went through the plate spring. That just sounds BAD! Here's hoping I won't hear that for a while on...
Two months after that someone decided to bust my driver's side windows so I lost my stereo (worth noting) and the front seat's cover was ripped by the glass - the back rest also broke.
Got an alarm fitted right after that, but it's not connected properly, meaning the siren goes off when I turn on the fog lights. It's annoying, but I tend to make the best of things, and I've had a lot of fun using the siren to scare scooterriders whose 2-wheelers are going a bit too fast  Am I evil? Yes I am. Am I eveil? I am maaan! (Metallica-fan, btw)
Now I'm looking to get the radiator done - at the rate the fan's blowing it won't last long.
Also, I've located a full set of leather/alcantara seats and door cards, which eventually will make me stray from the original colour scheme. No worries, it'll look great in a couple of years.
So far I've had a Tricker TB fitted and the ECU's been remapped (64,24HP@6210rpm/89.39NM@3703rpm). Also, a Novitec airbox has found its way into the engine bay, and I just looove it. Great sound, but not too loud. Also, an Apex lowering kit which officially should be 30/30, but is more along the lines of 30/50 - yes, it's lower in the back, so I'll be getting something else, later on.
The RR test has reveiled that one or more of the valve springs might not be in perfect condition, as the engine just kept losing power on further runs, but only from 5.500rpm and up.
Next step is to refurbish another cylinder head. That'll keep the car running while I lose my head on the head.
It'll be nice to keep my hands busy, while I study English at the university, here in Odense.
from Jesper.
Heh... Reading the preview, I've noticed I haven't changed much over the years. I don't write very often, but I do tend to write a lot. Can't shut up once I get going *LoL*
