whoopee another ipod pile of junk 
i have hated the ipod line of stuff since release day unfortunatly i have a 5g 30gb video but wouldnt have that if i didnt have the cd changer port for the headunit as its mince i prefer only the archos or mrobe line of stuff

Yeah, been keeping an eye on this as this is a serious challenger to Symbian based smartphones (Nokia Nseries, Sony P Series, etc).
Nokia have pretty much announced that they are declaring full out "war" on MP3 Player makers and most of their phones now are coming with serious Music abilities. My N73 is a very good MP3 player with the ability to store over 2000 tracks on a 2GB card. It's other abilities make it more like a PC and Nokia now even call these devices Multimedia Computers and not mobile phones.
However, the OSX based phone might blow these out of the water IF they perform as well as a Mac computer.
There is also a Linux based phone due towards the back end of 2007 but it's rumoured to be not as good as Symbian, who have a very good OS now and a vast share of the Smartphone market. Of course Windows Mobile devices are there too, but I have yet to find someone who actually likes them !

Excellent.. the rumours all pointed to this being announced in Jan.
If he plays it right he can wipe the floor with the competition.
My iPod is the best piece of technology i've had for years, not because of its technical capablities but because it just makes sense. The device, the interface, the software everything. If they can do the same for mobiles they're onto a winner.

Looking smart however also quite expensive - just over £300 ($599) for it stuck on a 2 year contract!
It will have to be very good compared to alternatives for that price.
Like the look of the satellite images, I want one day a sat nav that overlays a map on realtime satellite imagery so you can see your car driving along......totally pointless and impossible with current technology but I can dream.....
