Technical anybody have a 4x4 heater matrix?

hey guys. mine is steaming so i guess its popped.
ive not been in and had a look at it yet but its letting out more and more steam as time goes on.

anybody have one?

Check that the valve hasnt cracked, thats what happened to mine and it seems more common than the matrix itself going. If it is the matrix I have a spare as I bought a complete heater box just for the valve.

yeah i need one now with all the cables that move the flaps.

to be fair i cant see any problems with the heater matrix or the valve so no idea what the fault is.

i didnt realise you had to take the whole dash out to get the fan box thingy out.
oh well more cost.

so i now need the whole fan box thingy with working heater matrix and all the cabling that goes to the slider levers on the dash

i cant believe that in all the time i have had my panda, not one has come into the local scrap yard wreckers yard.

should of just left it. and when it did pop just cut and join the 2 pipes together. what a pain in the ass... guhh

Its abit of a faff, but alot easier than most other cars which have the matrix buried inside the dash. I take it you have broken the box trying to get it out?

Check the base of the heater valve where it bolts to the matrix for cracks, only needs to be very small to cause a leak. As I said I have a complete heater box you can have but it will be minus the valve. I will be at MITCAR.

ill take the valve off and look for any cracks. if i find them i am sure i can find something i can fix it with.

does it have any of the cables that opens the flaps?

i have a complete heater removed from the panda parade(not 4x4) was removed for a FF member to purchase but not done so...

its in the complete housing that you bolt under bonnet, can bring along if ya like on sunday for you to look at...

i think i could mod a non 4x4 valve to fit anyway. they use same matrix, just differnt valve. worth taking a look at! thanks

hmm, i could still do with another valve. the one i have now passes like crazy and its like you have heat on when its on cold :/

by the way, is it just me or do i happen to have a very strange heater matrix valve? i have searched the whole interwebs, but every "fiat heater valve/cock" only comes up with the black valve or the more rounded white valve.

just a 4x4 thing?
