I'm having troubl egetting MP3's from my PC onto a Motorolla V3 Razr.

The MP3's were loaded onto the PC, staright from an original cd and saved via WMP.

I've tried all sorts of "squashing" the MP3, from lowest to highest quality and there's no trouble doing the actual transfer from PC to phone via the USB cable, but when I try to ply the MP3, it actually says "File Corrupt Delete".

Ironically, I've sucessfully transferred MP3's to the phone which were downloaded from Limewire.

Any clues folks?

Funny enough, i used to get the same problem when using WMP to get files off CD.

In the end i gave up and used something recommended by Rob.

Are you sure the files you are transferring are MP3's and have not been converted to WMA format ?

Oh, and I'm glad you brought this up. I almost forgot to put some MP3's on my phone for my stay in hospital tonight :)

@ Daz - What did I recommend you do ? I can't remember !! LOL :)

I have a v3 and have the same problem, i can transfer mp3's and pictures to my comp from the phone, but not the other way round.

If you work it out let me know!!!!

Thanx

If the CD's were ripped using WMP, then it is likely they are in WMA format. You need to either rip them as MP3's or convert the WMA's.

Use something like dbPowerAmp to do this.

Does the V3 use a memory card or is it all "built-in" memory ?

I hate to rub it in, but I just transferred a whole CD to my Nokia 6680 in MP3 format in about 30 seconds. The beauty of the Symbian powered Nokia smartphones is their compatibility and ability to load programs and software the same way you do on a PC :)

Ah, bummer.

What does the manual say with regards to importing MP3's on to the phone ? Does the Razr have a restriction on particular formats or versions ? Does the MP3 have to be transferred via the cable or via Bluetooth ?

Just can't think why it wouldn't work other than that the files you are sending across aren't MP3's.

Check the ID Tags, some dont handle all wersions and report damaged/broken/unknown format

Nope - they were all .mp3 format, saved to hard drive via Windows Media Player.

I converted some Wav files via Acoustica mp3/Wav convertor too, just for good measure - either way, it's only the "khosher" mp3's that wont transfer, the Limewire downloads worked fine.

Bas*ard Motorola.

If anyone can sus this - please give me a nod!

My gf has a motorola and I used iTunes for converting to mp3. All worked - try it if you will.

Nope - that wont work either.

I now have a library full of M4A Files.

When using the Itunes software, there is no option to convert to MP3

There's teh option to convert to AAC, but not MP3.

Any clues....anyone??????

As you were - what a tool I am.

Sorted and converting..............

How frustrating is this!

Right, I have converted all music files to MP3 format via the Itunes software and verified the file extension is .mp3, that was the easy bit.

When I try to transfer from PC to phone an error message flashes up - file size too large. So, I shrink the MP3 in question to a bare minimum size (via Acoustica Wav/wma/mp3 convertor) and the transfer then goes ahead.

When I access the transferred mp3 on the phone - guess what, It still says "file corrupt".

What I cant understand is why the MP3's downloaded from Limewire will transfer OK and play first time.

I'm getting really French Connectione with this now and I've given up.

Toys out the cot and pet lip is quivering.....................
