Reason I'm askin is the av outputs on the xbox and the 360 the same as I have a 360 VGA cable and wanted to run it on an old xbox since I don't have a tv....iv tryed looking and even on eBay for a VGA adapter for the xbox but no luck as there's only so much u can do on an iPhone

I'm swapping all my 360 stuff for an old xbox and was hopin to
upgrade the HD to 120gb and install Linux so I have a mini pc

Why not cut out the middle man and swap your 360 for a mini PC? Or sell the 360 and buy one outright? :p

You'd be amazed at how cheap you can get average spec'd machines these days!

i used to have a car pc for my Brava was great no noise and low power usage and was relaticly cheap aswell :) think i was around £200 for the full kit for it

I've always wanted to do something like that, pc with a decent HDD in the boot, touch screen HU but I'm convinced that it'd drink petrol and, if known of or suspect, become a thief magnet.

I planned to put the screen in the boot with the machine and have it literally just for music, with only simple buttons up front (prev/next/play/pause/stop) so I could set up a playlist of everything on random and just go. Removable HDD so I could plug it into this PC for file transfer/playlist creation. Maybe a wee LCD screen up front but only to show what's currently playing and related track info.

Of course, this is all pie-in-the-sky at the moment :p

someone made a **** hot one for an alfa 156, he had a progress thread on alfa owner and it is more advanced than my gaming pc haha.

He has put it where the 3 guages for fuel, temp and clock are on the centre console bit and managed to make a connection to the car and make a program to display the information on his touch screen. Its some piece of kit!

I think if I was ever going to do a car PC I would make sure that it had a GPRS chip in it running off a lithium battery (effectively a mobile phone always on attached to it), then have a nice little web gui so you could see where your car was at all times when you're away from it on your iPhone :D
