I live in a high crime area and had my old car broken into numerous times, they would even break in, have a look round, then just leave after they hadn't found anything. They took the remote for my CD player and even a head unit without the facia! So this is my latest plan to try and fool them. i just think it's sad that we can't just have what we want! When i lived back at my parents i had loads of ice and when i went into the village i used to leave my car with the windows open, the facia still on the head unit and it never got touched. My mum's clarion CD player was stolen from her micra at the hospital the other day, it's shocking!

Anyway, here's what i have done, looks awful but atleast it should help. I need a little inovation keeping the bravo facia in place. At the moment it's held with bluetac, i was thinking of velcro or magnets, any other ideas?

The pictures (please copy and paste into your browser as half the time the pics dont work if i try to directly link them):

Oh, another thought, i want to drill lots of little holes, say 10mm, in my parcel shelf for the 6x9's instead of cutting a big oval so the carpet doesn't sag, can anyone see any problems with that?

the fake radio cover is a good idea, however you can actually buy a professional version. It consists of a fascia (identicle to the fiat/autoleads one) and a cover that clips into it so it doesnt fall out. Looks 100% like the original radio and is a lot neater when u take the cover off. (plus you dont have to mutilate your old radio)

If anyone is interested i will have some of these for sale in a few weeks - price will be around £17 inc p&p

Sorry to advertise.

Also drilling lots of little holes for 6x9's will be a problem! I suggest you just put one beam accross the 6x9 hole to support the carpet.

Re: Re: Anti Theft

Thanks for the advice! let us have a pic of the cover when you can. i managed to do my mods without damaging the radio so it should go back together

Re: Re: Anti Theft

Jonathon, You selling the facia adapter and the cover or them seperately as i already have the adapter fitted?

Re: Re: Re: Anti Theft

they come as a pair im afraid, if you already have the fiat fascia you wont need to remove it, as the one provided is the same.
