I've just inherited a 59 reg Panda 1.1. Active ECO. It had been sitting in a car park for about 8 months, doing nothing while paperwork was sorted 250 miles from home.
My first idea was to get it valeted, checked out and sold. I didn't think a car with a quarter of the power of my current car was going to be much fun, so I wasn't keen to make the 500 mile trip to collect it. Then I changed my mind.....
£30 tax, £120 insurance, a lot cheaper than my current car.
So went to collect it. Cleaned the windows, checked the tyres, oil and brakes, and off I went, didn't even need the jump leads
1st stop, fill up, less than £50 from nearly empty, I'm liking this!
Head off up the M6 towards Cumbria, indicated 80mph or so no problem.
Needs some severe persuasion to get up the steep hills and mountains, but gets there without drama.
I get home grinning, I'd forgotten how much fun a simple, low powered car could be.
I'm keeping this
