as some of you are aware i recently had the top end rebuilt( TD100-marea ) following a cam/drive belt interface incident . since then the car has consistently been dripping oil . had it back in three times now and the garage insist it is the vacuum seal not seating properly (how likely is this??) .
noticed it was dripping again tonight predominantly from somewhere above the sump - but consistency of oil looked watery and it smelled like fuel . removed it of my one in three drive parked it on the flat and the dripping stopped???
put it back on the drive , ran the engine , took the plastic cover off and notice the glow plugs are situated in small indentations - these indentations appear to be full of what I assume is hot diesel and i suspect that on the slope of my drive the diesel is falling out of these indents back over the engine block and dribbling away over the sump .
ok - now heres the bit i need help with . why is fuel collecting in the indents round the glow plugs/injectors- do the plugs need tightening or is it something far more sinister like the engine is too far advanced and too much fuel is being forced into the engine ?? ( ie the cam belt job has not been done very well??)
would like to have some idea before i bollo@k the garage tomorrow .
thanks in advance ./
Dave.
