Fitted the light today ..............well that was easy(y)
Original light just Un-clips then unplug connector.
The new light is in two parts, the back part screws to the bodywork with two large self tapping screws into the holes already in bodywork, then plug in new light to connector plug and simply snap in the light to the back part.
The light has three modes, off,on,and auto.
I'm not sure about the charging bit, but it charged from flat in about an hour.
The torch has 4 AAA rechargeable batteries inside and these are replaceable.
This Gizmo going to be a blessing as trips to the loft are often the case in my line of work
I've patted my self on the back and treated myself to a pint of ice cold cider:D

That's pretty cool would like one of those. I've got a roof lining and other trim as it is a combo, any idea if it will fit my guess is probably not?

Thanks for the info, my rear light is in the headlining and there is no light in the lower load space? It's the same as the front one above the rear view mirror.

Is your light up the top on the right as you look at the back?
If you take off the plastic panel in that area there will be a square cut-out for the light already there.
The other light position requires a new panel with the cut-out in it,
I've had that panel off and there is nothing but air, and the plug for the interior light is sitting in there taped to the loom than runs along there

Yes my light is there in the roof, but have the full roof lining as the car:

The one you have when i've zoomed in on it does look like the one i used to have even though i have nothing but metal on show, i can't see why the other light won't fit.
Just to add, my new light does have i gap between it and the body indicating that there is headlining missing.

Done some research, and from what i can establish there are three versions rear of interior light
The front ones however are the same all be it, if you have an alarm fitted, or hands free phone kit fitted.
I have seen a aux 12 volt socket fitted to the o/s rear panel on some models, but on removal of my panel there is no connection there...........or is there one hiding?

I fitted a 12V aux socket to the rear OS panel in my Qubo to operate my printer through a 12/230V inverter (y). I couldn't find a spare supply but used the feed to the boot light, which is live with ignition off. Be careful of load though as it only has a 7A fuse so can only power 80 ish Watts max.

The boot light has no switch, it operates via the tailgate switch to earth and is located under the speaker. Access is easy - lift off speaker cover and unscrew/lift out speaker, then pull down the light to reveal the wire.

Drill a suitable hole in plastic side panel (check behind first ;) ) and push in the socket. Use a Scotchlok connector to splice the socket RED wire to the brown/red wire on the light and connect the socket BLACK wire to earth using nut/bolt or self tapper.

I removed the blanking plate (plastic, where another pocket one should be - why make a blank when they could be more helpful to the end-user?) on the o/s and there are three connectors behind, one with heavier duty wiring so I guess that is the feed for the rear socket. Someway back I posted pics of these connectors - they were taped to the loom so they didn't rattle so you have to look inside the hole with a torch (you'll find a rechargeable one up in the roof :) but they should be there.
