i plan on fitting new headlights at some point, ideally with angel eyes and eyebrows, what i would like to know is do all angel lights need to be wired up in some way with extra wires etc, or can you get some that are just a direct re-fit to the originals cos my electrical skills are very limited.
also does anyone know of a decent set of eyebrows i can get that have a good fit? i fitted some to my headlights i have now, but they are not the best but will do for the moment.
thanks.

Hi there,

You dont need any electrical skills to wire in angel eyes, its simply a positive and earth each side., and can connect these to the side light wires.

As for eyebrows, ive never come across off the shelf ones that fit perfectly tbh, maybe somone else will have found some though (y)

so how do you do this? sorry, but im a novice and know little about stuff like this. would a garage do this if i took it to them? i would most likely have take it to them as the bumper would need to be removed to fit em.

Hi,

Yeah a garage will do it for you, however they will also charge for it!

Wiring them in is simple, fitting the angel eyes themselves is more complicated. You can get away with just removing the two torx bolts at the top in the middle of the bumper, and the 2 10mm bolts at either enfd of the bumper, this allows you to pull it forward just enough to remove the headlights without actually removing the bumper totally.

There are 3 x 10mm bolts that hold each headlight on, and then a wiring multi-plug at the rear.

Once the headlight is out, you need to remove the front plastic cover of the headlight. Most people use a dremel or similar type tool to cut along the seal, as its not possible to remove it without cutting it.

Then you mount the angel eyes using the glue/sticky paper provided. Whilst your there you could also de-tano the headlights if you so wished!

Then you have to put the headlight cver back on, and re-seal it with silicone.

Then simply wires the positive wire from the angel eye into the positive wire of the sidlight, and the negative feed for the angel eye into the negative feed for the sidelight.

Then simply put it back in the reverse of above! Job done!

i would look at getting completely new head lights as one of the brackets is broken anyways. are the bumper bolts easy to get too as i dont have a ramp to raise up the front end of the car.

i have found these which look good... will they still need wiring up as they say its plug in and play but.... are they? lol.

Hi there,

Thse are total new headlight units that come with angel eyes built in. If your replacing the headlights anyway, then they are a much better option than butchering a new set of lights to fit angel eye rings. They will already be pre wired!

Hi,

Yep the add does say "plug and play" so that measnt that you SHOULDNT need to do ANY wiring other than plug the multi-connector in the back

I say SHOULD because you can never quite tell with aftermarket parts. Best bet is to e-mail the website to doble check that no wiring is involved.

great. fingers crossed on that one then.... next bit is the eyebrows... anyone know of good fitting ones? the ones i fitted didnt mold well to the light and had to tape em down very well just so the silicon would bond them well enough to stay in place... and even then they aint perfect...

mate if you decide to cut your headlights open to install angel rings then i make and sell angel rings for mk2 punto...simple 2 wires positive and negative easy to install mate will look like this...

ONLY £35 the full set let me know if you interested bud

thanks for the offer bud, they look good, but one of my lights has a broken bracket anyways so will be replacing the lot and wanna keep it simple.

do angel eyes stay on permanently when the ignition is on or they turned on with the parking/main lights are turned on? silly question i know and id assume they work off the ignition, but not seen any in action... cars around here are limited in style and seem to be driven by ppl who live in halfords. :S

angel eyes are used as sidelights so they are the sidelights and parking lights mate...they will still be on when dipped beam is on aswel.
