Ok, i have read all the posts about the uno's dying while either idling or when the engine get's warm. I have a problem that is similar but completely different. I got a 2001 Uno 1.1L, completely stock but it stalls on me when the weather is cool/cold. What i mean by this is that i can be going down the highway during the day at 140 km/h and not have a single problem, it even feels great, but in the evenings i can feel the car getting sluggish a bit. And if i am driving at night or early mornings than i am living in hell. At 100 km/h to 110 km/h and going up a hill the car will want to cut off (jerking motion). It will continue to do this till i reach the crest of the hill and then will be fine on the decent, but of course i am not trying to gun it cause by then i am thinking "is this the time that i need to call a tow truck?".
So let me recap just incase anyone is confused.....
Early mornings/darkness (cold air) it idles rough for about 10mins (until warm), take it out on the road..fine until i hit about 110 km/h than it wants to cut out. If i keep driving it it gets worse and worse and i am stalling at 40 km/h!!! If i let the car sit for a bit with the engine off (for about 2 or 3 minutes) and than start it back up, than it seems fine until i hit 110 km/h again and the whole thing repeats.
During the day when it's nice and hot here in south africa, it runs like a champ, until i hit 150 km/h than it wants to cut but nothing like at night time.
I have taken it to a garage who replaced the fuel pump, and to the dealership who said i had some paper in the main jet. I seriously doubted him when he said that was causing the problem. They had my car for a week and couldn't reporduce the problem during the daytime, which i told them it wouldn't do it and that one of them would have to take it home with them and test it about 9pm. But of course that never happened. So bascially no one has a clue and i am really getting frustrated and i am tired of this uno making me look like a fool in front of my girl.
Thanks if anyone can help me, i would really appreciate it.
