I recently fitted another amp to power my 6x9's and keep getting problems, my other amp powering my subs keeps cutting out and the one powering the 6x9's cuts out every now and then for short periods
Anyone got any idea why this might be?
Please Help this is so annoying and im confused!
:bang:

i had this problem with my two amps, the problem was the live cable!!
if your running standard amp wires through the car then the chances are that your cable cant carry enough power, replace this with some 4 gauge cable and your problem will be solved (y)

you can earth them strate to the cars body but make sure there is bare metal off the car to the earth of the amp ie. no paint on conection. try earthing them on the same point if this doesnt work try seprate earthe but you should be able to earth them together no probs hope this helps let me kno how it goes lee

Where is the best place to earth them though? do they have to be earthed in 2 seperate places?

best place to earth would be a paint free and bare metal

i always thought it was best to earth to the same place

your best to check earth, power lead and speaker cables

when the speakers cut out, do they turn back on by themselves or do you have to fiddle around with them to get them to work

yep,use one earth point,by using multiple earth points you create an earth circle in your boot which will reduce your power output. ;)

I have got a fused splitter yeh and im using 4 gauge power cable from the battery to the splitter then 8 gauge from that to each amp, i dont have to fiddle with the speakers or subs they just come back on or if tunr the head unit off then on they work again and may or may not go back off!
Il check the earth or try moving it to another place!

Besides the earth and/or power cables check to see whether the amps are hot when they switch off.

One of the amps does feel a little watrm but i wouldnt say hot! And the cut out light has come on, why is this? could it be overheating and if so why and how can i prevent it?
Please Help!

If it is over heating, You need to give it more air space or maybe turn the gain etc down alittle , dont have it running max power all the time
