alternater

Hi everybody new to this forum i would like to wish all a merry christmas before i ask for your help, my problem is during the day my little seicento is fine with plenty of power in the battery, but at night as soon as put on lights the battery drains, i have changed the alternater but still happening, can anyone please come up with another cause for this.

hi there and welcome to the forum. put some pics up of your little car

have a look in the seisection, might be something there of use

it only drains when the lights are on? what if you leave the radio on for a few hours with the car off?

sounds like a serious drain problem related to the lighting circuit... it may be shorting, but as for why its not blowing the fuse im not sure.

best get a multimeter on it and measure the current drawn by the lights, then hopefully one of the sei guys can do the same and compare?

Xen thanks for your reply, i put a meter on the car this morning it was reading 14.3, but once car warmed up it is like if something went down and the reading started to drop, and when i reved the car the reading was dropping even more.

have you had the battery checked? is the alternator new?

keep a lookout for welsh meets in the events section in the new year

its a new battery and a recon alternater
