i've just got some new 17 inch alloy wheels for my '97 hgt. anyway, i chuck them on and everything seems fine until i try to drive and the thing wont move!!
turns out that on both the front wheels, the nuts had gone through the hub holes and were caught on something at the back, stopping the wheel from spinning.
anyone else had this problem?? do i just need shorter wheel nuts???

any ideas appreciated, cheers
chris

Yep its common

I replaced all my wheel nuts with MOMO jobbies and a set of loccking nuts.
The Fiat ones are too long so u will have to replace them.

wheels

hi, have you got alloys with the correct offset for the car? If not you'll have to use wobbly bolts to fit the wheels.

wheels

i'm pretty sure that the offset is correct, i ordered them from a company called wheel base. they are tsw's.
what are those momo bolts you are on about spyder? where can i get them??

Bolts

They're replacement wheel bolts, they're shorter than the original Fiat ones and got 'em with wheels.
Mine are buy MOMO who also make alloy wheels but u should be able to get the bolts u need from the likes of Halfords just tell em what u put on here.
Wheelbase are a decent company so your wheels should be correct offset, which is 35mm, should be written on the alloy somewhere.
Remeber to buy some locking wheel nuts aswell, as again the Fiat ones are too long.

ok

cheers, i'll try that at the weekend then?
is your car lowered?? what setup have you got?

Re: ok

Lowered front end, Monroe uprated shocks and Eibach springs, rear is standard for the mo' and I drive a Marea Weekend
