Blue will need very big spacers -- especially at the front -- to take the 15" wheels I have for it. They'll need to be hubcentrics and probably one offs. Ideally you'd want something like the Sei Abarth set up (but using studs for convenience).

So, I thought, why not take off a bit of unsprung and fit alloy hubs?

Can anyone think of any reasons why not?

Ally Escort hubs. Okay for the wrong car but I think it proves the principle.

I've actually got a list of ally hubs and prices somewhere as I was looking to change the PDC of my Mk2 Sei'. I decided against that before working out if any of them fitted & I have no idea where I got the price/spec list from. The only thing to mention was that the hubs marked 'suitable for road use' have steel spline/thread inserts.

FK Automotive make correct hub centric spacers from alloy up to 30mm, I know I used them on my Cinq when i had the Strada Abarth wheels.

They are fantastic in that they bolt to the hub and wheel bolts to them, there are two types one that is slightly more expensive as it has toughened inserts.

Eibach upto 25mm and H&R also do alloy 30mm spacers again TuV approved so very high quality.

When looking at any German made spacers they are listed in axle increase ie 60 = 2x30mm spacers.

H&R and Eibach available from here http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/

FK Automotive from here http://www.performancedriven.co.uk/shop.category.asp?CatID=104

All of them from here http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pa...tml?category=wheels;sub_category=wheelspacers

Thanks both.

I'd completely forgotten about the splines until last night!:bang: Finding someone with the right tool to cut the spline will be very difficult. An insert made from a machined down old hub might be possible. Certainly, for everyday use, you'd want steel thread inserts. I'll have a think and maybe pop over to see the one engineer in the UK I trust to make it!
