Who has a soldering iron and is not affraid to use it?

I have a problem, my driver side climate control doesnt work no more BUT FEAR NOT, there is a solution... I just need a kind soul with a soldering iron and some time on their hands to help me out.

Your time will of course be paid for in what ever currency you preffer beer? petrol? IT support? ££?

Solderings a piece of ****. I fixed a dry joint on a mates telly last week using a windproof lighter and butter knife.
You got a pic of the bit needing done?

Nope, sorry. All I know is what is in that post think I could do it with a lighter? sounds a bit risky? lol

You only need the lighter to heat up the knife. You don't put the flame anywhere near the solder. Once the knife is hot enough you can spread the solder like butter. Can be a little fiddly in tight areas but not hard.

i have a soldiering iron and some experiencewith it mate, if you can hold on a few weeks to get it done or if you have unit out i will be able to do it at a night if you want

Would it pass an MOT without the unit in it? got to book that for next week sometime once the pay is in

I am off for the next 3 days, I will try and figure out how it comes out without breaking anything then

its not exactly life and death tho is it?, just leave it as is for the time being till you get her MOT'd, then we will get it done. not exactly the weather for cc is it lol, although it is getting better....

It controls the hot/cold air at my side cant even just rely on the passenger side cause its dual zone climate control :S lol I will just have to find the hat and gloves for these cold mornings

Can't wait to see how much this MOT is going to cost me lol
