Hi. Have just discovered site and info is very good. I am not a techy however.
I have a 5 year old elganza. got it 14months old with 250 mls on it. Now has 40K. I have had no issues till now. Alternator just packed in.
2 questions
1. I had it replaced by dealership and when I picked it up, i noticed the invoice said it was recondtioned. They tell me this is always the case and Fiat do not supply new. Is this the case? £240 plus vat and installation.
2. They told me when i got it back that when it is first started the warning icon remains on. Switch it off and restart and it goes off. Otherwise it works ok. This is the case. They initially thought battery may have been damaged, but tested it and it seems ok. They have said if it continues they will get another replacement under warranty. Any thoughts on this.
Cheers

Sounds as though it's still dodgy to me. My alternator packed up a few months ago on my '06 dynamic, I ended up getting a replacement from alternatormart.co.uk for £168 inclusive of next day delivery, they said it was new, not reconditioned. I fitted it myself, a bit of a sod of a job though. Best of luck.
