Notice the spec box on my Cross does not tick 'Volumetric Alarm'. Does that mean there is no audible alarm at all, just central locking that appears to deadlock however?

500X Cross Plus as standard only comes with Immobiliser, central locking and deadlocks. I believe the audible alarm is an option.

Interesting, when I changed my insurance I made sure the box I checked was 'Manufacturers' under Security. I have a clause that if my car is not parked in the garage between 10 pm and 6 am if at home, my insurance is invalid, wonder if that is due to the lack of a audible alarm?
Same for me. When asked about vehicle security I always say Manufacturer's. Thatcham do have a list of Manufacturer Vehicle systems they have approved here:http://www.thatcham.org/security.
As a list it is a bit bland as it lists by type of system. M7 - M8 is Fiat 500 (no 500X) and Jeep Renegade (500X?) is listed. So Manufacturer's is the safe call.
