Hi All
Can anyone help, I've just taken delivery of 55 plate 1.3 multiJ Dynamic.
Great car but one small problem, The manual says on locking the car using the remote the indicators should flash once and unlocking should flash twice. I have a red LED flashing internally on the internel lock switch to confirm it's locked, but mine don't flash.
Any ideas, Does mine not have an alarm? Just bog standard central locking?

Thanks.

My 55 1.4 petrol is same as yours. Be interesting if anyone knows how to activate indicator flash upon locking/unlocking.

Hi Tipouno just found the same question on another forum. Unfortunately i can't include the URL.
It says that Fiat switched off the indicator confirmation flash at the docks if the car wasn't fitted with an alarm:confused: Although this can be switched back on through the computer hook up and FiatEcuScan software, or a Fiat garage.
Not sure how true all this is but sounds feasible.

The flash set to off by Fiat is correct. Why I don't know but Fiat can switch it to on for a fee. Some Fiat garages have been known to do it for nada as all they do is connect their computer and change it easily. Maybe at service time you could ask nicely?

Thanks Tigershoot. That has put my mind at rest, at least I know it's not broken(y)

Hi

This is exactly what my 06 Multijet did-or rather didn't-when I bought it,and only when going thru the book did I find out about what the indicators should do.No problem, thought I,a few minutes on the great Examiner(authorised persons only),and a few £s,and I would have "visual indication of lock or unlock status"...no chance of gong back to the supplying place(100+ miles away)so round to the local one,who first gave me a load of whitewash about how "the car might be set up for a different country"(WTF?It's right hand drive,I'm the second owner, and it's not an import)and then said "so they would need to do a full hour of diagnostics becos there might be something wrong with it".Cost £89:eek:.Probably didn't like me becos I hadn't bought it there. The next lot(nearer to my work) were just as hopeless, first not able to grasp the concept of what was required, and then(on the second visit-becos first time round "the electrician was on holiday")telling me after half an hour that they "couldn't do it".

But-3rd time lucky and I went to an independant(who used to be a Fiat/Alfa dealer some years back)-altho whether you use a dealer or Fiat ECUScan you will need the 5 digit "Electronic code",which is on the "Code Card"-which,you've guessed it,I didn't have, but was ordered without any trouble(apart from the extra expense!)

HTH

Michael
